Irish soda bread recipe | Blah Blah Magazine1. Preheat the oven to 180 degrees celsius, sift the plain flour and bicarbonate soda into a bowl. Throw in the wholemeal flour, salt and sugar.Irish soda bread recipe | Blah Blah Magazine2. In another bowl, lightly beat the eggs and stir in milk, then mix the liquid and dry ingredients together.Irish soda bread recipe | Blah Blah Magazine3. Split in two pieces, put on baking paper (or foil if you’ve run out like we did!) and shape into a ball with wet hands.Irish soda bread recipe | Blah Blah Magazine

5. Slice into the top with a wet knife, move dough with paper or foil onto a tray and bake in the oven until golden brown. Irish soda bread recipe | Blah Blah Magazine6. Test by piercing the centre with a knife and if it comes out clean the bread is ready to take out and cool on a rack. As you will see in the above photo, Christophe made a fruit loaf with the other half of the mixture by throwing a handful of sultanas, dried cranberries and nuts into the dough and mixed it together.Irish soda bread recipe | Blah Blah Magazine
